What I actually had in mind1. Start by organizing a comprehensive list of helpful information and resources for the cities of Ventura, Carpinteria, and Santa Barbara. 2. Focus on finding and sharing good community resources. 3. Get a domain name for my website. 4. Make this information accessible online for anyone who may someday come across this website. There are so many resources on the internet and around the city, but often times, they're too hard to find and there's already too much going on in social media! 5. Get more involved and reach out to local organizations who'd like to connect on The Community Tide for more online visibility. 6. Let the Tide move naturally. Share it by word of mouth, write a press release, and print some fliers. However, for the sake of my own mental health, I don't see myself seriously using social media. This website will remain online for anyone who would like to check (We are currently here). 7. Consider actually registering The Community Tide as a LLC (For now, at least, this is not a magazine or business. This is just another creative side project for a young independent woman who already has too many creative side projects). I would like to plan daily and monthly themes for my media content and to help organize classes, clubs, and community events. Monday - Community Tuesday - Writing Wednesday - Art Thursday - Wellness Friday - Recreation Weekend - Appreciation But will I make it that far? The vision is to provide a local online resource that will kindly direct you to the help you may need or inform you of something new. This is a community minded project that was created to organize and share helpful information with locals who might not all have full access to social media.
The greater potential of The Community Tide really depends on the support of the community because this resource could simply exist on the internet, or it can grow into a grassroots publication with engaging local content and possible community events. We'll see how it goes.

For Immediate Release May 17, 2022 Contact Sabaitide Writer and Website Developer thecommunitytide@gmail.com The Community Tide connects local and online resources CARPINTERIA, CA — The Community Tide (Tide) is like one big online community board, but with a small town vibe. This website was created to curate a comprehensive list of local and online resources for the cities of Ventura, Carpinteria, and Santa Barbara in both English and Spanish. The aim is to make all of this helpful information easier to find, especially for those who are not connected to the world of social media. The Community Tide makes it easy to find valuable local resources for disaster relief, food, safety, and much more. One of the most notable pages currently online is a page dedicated to mental health, which includes helpful and informational resources for sexual assault, substance abuse, suicide prevention, and therapy, in addition to a list of crisis hotlines in case you or a loved one is in urgent need to talk to someone. There are so many valuable local and online resources available, but with so much content on the internet nowadays, the problem soon becomes that many of them are hard to find. The vision for the Tide is to organize all of these community resources on one central website that will kindly direct you to the local help you may need for when you will need it. Please check the Tide for yourself at www.thecommunitytide.com May 18, 2022
Coastal View | New Online Resource Offers Local Connections Welcome to the TideConsider the Tide to be like one big online community board, but with a small town vibe. This website was created to curate a comprehensive list of community resources for Ventura, Carpinteria, and Santa Barbara to make all of this helpful local information easier to find, especially for those who are not connected to the world of social media. One problem that I've observed in the current state of online news and media is that real help and information is hard to find through the overwhelming amount of media content and ads. Most of the media outlets are either already well established, outdated, unrelatable, or are covered with ads. Even as a writer myself, I struggled to find an existing publication that I could contribute to. I created The Community Tide to first and foremost organize and share all of these helpful resources. I kind of binged and purged on local and online news in search for more community resources because I feel like it's important for this list to be available online somewhere to direct people to the help they may need. It may be helpful to know the voice behind this ship
Hi there. I am @sabaitide and I would like to use my writing and website developing skills to bring my community together. I was born in Santa Barbara, raised in Ventura, reside in Carpinteria, and pretty much the best thing that I have going on for me right now is that I’m from the 805. I would like to do what I can to make my community a nicer place, so I hope this will help. |
