The Community Tide begins local art and poetry round up

CARPINTERIA, CA — The Community Tide (Tide) was created to be a place to find and organize local and online resources for the cities of Ventura, Carpinteria, and Santa Barbara. The website’s creator, Sabaitide, says that she browsed too much news and media and still could not find a less confusing place to find helpful information, and so her solution was to create her own website to make help easier to find, in both English and Spanish.

The Community Tide makes it easy to find valuable local resources for disaster relief, mental health, safety, and much more. Now, on the more creative side, the Tide is beginning to organize a monthly art and poetry round up in effort to find and organize local creative work, not just community resources. When describing her vision for the Tide, Sabaitide says, “I feel like helpful resources will always be somewhere on the internet, but art and poetry is what's always current, changing, and constantly being created. There’s a lot of creative work that I haven’t seen yet, and that’s what I really want to find and organize for my community.”

The theme for the first monthly art and poetry round up is water, or ‘Welcome to the Tide,’ and for the creative prompt, Sabaitide asks her community, “Does being from an ocean community make you feel connected to nature or others?” For more information on how to share your creative work on the Tide and for the full 2022-2023 theme calendar, please check the Tide for yourself at www.thecommunitytide.com.

The Community Tide connects local and online resources
CARPINTERIA, CA — The Community Tide (Tide) is like one big online community board, but with a small town vibe. This website was created to curate a comprehensive list of local and online resources for the cities of Ventura, Carpinteria, and Santa Barbara in both English and Spanish. The aim is to make all of this helpful information easier to find, especially for those who are not connected to the world of social media.

The Community Tide makes it easy to find valuable local resources for disaster relief, food, safety, and much more. One of the most notable pages currently online is a page dedicated to mental health, which includes helpful and informational resources for sexual assault, substance abuse, suicide prevention, and therapy, in addition to a list of crisis hotlines in case you or a loved one is in urgent need to talk to someone.

There are so many valuable local and online resources available, but with so much content on the internet nowadays, the problem soon becomes that many of them are hard to find. The vision for the Tide is to organize all of these community resources on one central website that will kindly direct you to the local help you may need for when you will need it.
